Tonight we watch the Pacquio fight. I suspect he will win easily. Tomorrow will be my first run event of the year, and the reason I started this blog. I will be running a 5K. I've been preparing for this run for the last 2 1/2 months. I got fitted for running shoes, and followed a "Couch to 5K" program. In addition to running, I have started to lift weights, and spinning class. The title of this blog is "Asmatic Smoker to Fit". I've had asthma since I was 10 years old(34 now), and I never ran long distances. I always had a pass during gym class to walk the laps during run sessions. In college, I took up the lovely habit of smoking. I smoked regularly (2-3 packs a week) for 10 years. I smoked casually until about 2 months ago. You can only just imagine how hard it was for me to start running. When I first starting training, I could barely jog a block w/o having to stop, and catch my breath. So far, I have ran 31 minutes straight, and covered about 2.8 miles.
Wish me luck.. I'll tell you how the run goes tomorrow. I gotta clean the house a little, and watch the Pacquio fight.
